Conglomerate ownership is when one major company owns subsidiary companies for example Disney owns Marvel

Doctor Strange was rated 12A because it had "moderate fantasy violence" but it wasn't too graphic.

The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) had already passed the film PG-13 (a rating meaning people of any age can watch it but parents are warned it may be unsuitable for children under 13). They cited 'sci-fi violence and action throughout and an intense crash sequence' as the issues underpinning the rating.

Marvel introduced a Doctor Strange character to their mobile and video games line-up.
Walt Disney used traditional methods such as posters and teaser trailers on TV and in cinema.
Social media profiles on Facebook and Twitter.  Marvel produced Twitter stickers, Facebook Live events, Snapchat lenses and filters, Tumblr stunts, Giphy content and Instagram special content.

6) Analyse the film trailer for Doctor Strange. What aspects of the trailer tell you this is a big-budget blockbuster movie?

The CGI and SFX for example the emphasis on powers and the 3-dimensional city that looks like an optical illusion. From this you can tell that it's a big-budget film because there is high end lighting and costumes being used. Another way the trailer tells you the film is big-budget is the use of Brand identity. The trailer instantly advertise Marvel in bold as Marvel is established with a large fanbase witch would entice those to consume this media product.

Doctor Strange cost $165 million to make and made $700 million at box office

8) Would you consider Doctor Strange a successful Hollywood blockbuster? Why?

I would consider Doctor Strange a successful Hollywood blockbuster because although a lot of money was put in to make this high quality action film, it earn't more than twice of what it cost meaning it had a wide audience of consumers. It could also be considered a successful Hollywood blockbuster as the conventions of them are: a big star actor ( Benedict Cumberbatch), a franchise (which it was said to have as a use of promotion, and a large budget ( Doctor Strange had a budget of $165 million)
